Rouge on a Corpse

This photo series captures both the quiet and major shifts that occurred within the walls of my first solo apartment throughout the first year’s lease. It encapsulates my experience as an undergrad student; desperately trying to understand who I am and what I want while neglecting to recognize that I often romanticized my struggles, viewing them through a lens of nostalgia or artistry, rather than confronting and healing them. Each image tells a story of mood, memory, and transformation—where clutter, stillness, and light become metaphors for my internal journey. What began as a simple observation grew into a deeper exploration of how our surroundings mirror and shape our state of mind. This project offers a window into the intimate relationship between self and space, revealing how the environments we inhabit hold the power to reflect our mental landscape.
